Working the altar is two -fold. You should be covering the one God is using and you should be covering the person that is receiving from God. You must be an intercessor!!!!
First. Pray without ceasing. 1 Thes. 5:17 (KJV) Prayer is God’s ordained way for man to receive things from Him. God moves, acts, and responds to prayer. As you pray, Praying for the Will of the Father, praying for an open ear, clear sight, and strength for the Leader God will move. Expect it. Pray that His people be made whole forever. No temporary fixes. We must find ourselves in right standing with God before we can serve in the House of God.
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? [4] He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart;
What? Touch that which God says is Holy with your filthiness? It is the same as a Physician operating on a patient with the flu. Now we all know that spirits travel. We don’t want what they have nor do they want what you have. As people come before God their spirits are open and they are in the midst of a divine transition. You may ask what must I do to be able to serve. As an Alter Worker you must be first partaker of the Alter. Bring it all to the Lord. He already knows you and everything about you. Yet, He sees you through the Blood of His Son. Ask Him to wash you, cleanse you and make you fit for His service and His people. We must live a life style of Repentance and forgiveness.

Your Heart Must be tender and compassionate toward the things of God. We must first Love God and His people before we can serve them effectively.
There is so much more to serving than just doing a task. You need to know when to move into battle, when to allow privacy, when to move into intercession, and how to set the atmosphere that will enable the totality of Healing and Deliverance for that person seeking God. Know your position and what it is you are supposed to do. Can you stand in the Gap and make up the hedge for God. Can He use you to be there when someone falls. We know that Father is going to catch us if we fall. You must be focused on the task at hand. It is hard to Love what you don’t know. Ignorance will cost you your life. We must become skillful at what we do. Carnal understanding will allow the world to set the standard for the Church.
