The house God built
Knowing your Identity and your Self-worth

Ephesians. 2:18-22 (KJV)
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. [19] Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; [20] And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; [21] In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: [22] In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

We, the church, are built upon the foundation laid by the testimonies of the apostles and prophets. They surrounded the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Their record and testimony of the Word of God itself is the foundation upon which the church is to be laid.
As we look at the House that God built,

2 Tim. 2:20 (KJV)
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Tim. 2:19).

In the natural the foundation of a building is very important. It is the same in a spiritual building. A foundation that has problems can be seen in the building. for instance, you may have electrical problems, doors not operating properly, plumbing not functioning as it should, and the roof may leak. Once a house has been built you will have to look for signs to know that there is a problem with the foundation. When God builds a church or a people he starts with the foundation. the foundation of God’s house is sure.

It means the household of God or the household of faith. It means the great house of believers that God is building. It is the family and church of God—the true family and true church of God. Note two facts about the great house of believers

The first inscription is this: “The Lord knows those who are his.”

The second inscription is this: “Let everyone that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity [unrighteousness].” The sign that a person is of the household of God is a pure and righteous life. A person who follows Christ does not live in sin.
God’s earthly house (the church) has a variety of vessels, both noble and base. The church has some vessels or people who are like gold and silver; that is, they honor Christ. But the church also has some vessels or people who are like wood and clay; that is, they dishonor Christ. The church has a mixture of people...

  • some are good and some are bad.
  • some are true and some are false.
  • some are genuine and some are counterfeit.
  • some are clean and some are dirty.
  • some are pure and some are tarnished.
  • some are clear and some are stained.
  • some illuminate light and some illuminate darkness.
  • Matthew 13:29-30 (KJV) But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. [30] Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

A person on this earth is not to judge others (see note—§ Matthew 13:30).
    1. It is sometimes hard to distinguish between the wheat and the tares, the righteous and those who profess to be righteous but are not. But note: if a person judges, he may tear out some wheat along with the tares.
    2. A day of judgment is coming; however, it is not to be executed by men, but by Christ at His return. John 8:7 (KJV)
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

So let me encourage you to focus on you and allow God to do the separating of the wheat and the tares.
May Tip: Maintance is the Key to Prevention. Keep your Body Maintained to prevent Breakdown.
