Luke 11:4 (KJV)
And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

What an awesome prayer Jesus taught us. Here the word deliver; rhuomai, Greek 4506, Strong’s

rhuomai, rhoo'-om-ahee; middle of an obsolete verb, akin to Greek 4482 (rheo) (through the idea of a current; compare Greek 4511 (rhusis)); to rush or draw (for oneself), i.e. rescue :- deliver (-er).

Luke 11:1-4 (KJV)

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. [2] And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. [3] Give us day by day our daily bread. [4] And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Now that you are saved do you think this applies to you? We often think that deliverance is for all those sinners who don’t know God. And often times we are very wrong. We are a three part being, we have a spirit; which belongs to God, a soul; which houses our will, intellect, and our emotions, and we have a body; flesh which houses our spirit and our soul. . One of the three or a combination of two will dictate your actions. Your spirit man will only be strong and in charge if you keep it full of the Word, do the word and resist the enemy. As Saints we come to Christ with more than a little baggage. You know the saying “come as you are“, it is the only way to come to Christ. We don’t try to fix ourselves before we come to Christ. We must first learn of Him by hearing about Him or by having an encounter with Him. This is why He gave us the five fold Ministry. We are a gift to you from Him so that you may know Him. We must honor and respect those He has gave charge over us.

Romans 10:14 (KJV)

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

2 Tim. 1:11 (KJV)

Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

If we are virgins to the things of God then we operate out of what we do know. If you had a drink everyday for the last 10-15 years you may not see anything wrong with that because it is what you have done for so long. But when you are born again and you begin to learn of Him you may not want to do as you did.

Deut. 21:20-21 (KJV)

And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. [21] And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

Ephes. 5:18 (KJV)

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

It may not be as easy as 123, Your soul man and your flesh is usually stronger than your spirit man. Your stomach growls saying feed me and you soul says lets eat at that steak house, but your spirit may say No you just ate 10 minuets ago. If your spirit man is full of the Word of God then you will be able to make good Godly decisions. Deliverance can be misunderstood, You may think it is only for certian things , however when you are sick you need to be delivered from the spirit of infirmity, when you are broke, you need to be delivered from the spirit of poverty, when you are in trouble there is deliverance from that situation.

Luke 5:39 (KJV)

No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

In other words you will always lean towards what you are use to. Deliverance comes with knowledge and belief. If you find it in the word and you believe what you read then deliverance will come. So things you will have to stop doing yourself. Make the choice. Jesus gave us power to cast out devils and demons, However you must be trained and taught about the supernatural power of God. He is well able to deliver us.

John 8:36 (KJV)

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

He is no respecter of person, as you will see throughout the Bible many before us have been delivered. Only believe, that He is able. When God delivers you He does it forever.

Monthly Assignment

The assignment for June is to simply have a spiritual check up by God. As you go through this month, seek God for a complete searching of your whole being. If there is anything that is not pleasing to Him, let it be revealed in the name Of Jesus. Deliverance is yours for the asking. If there be anything you should put off, ask Him how. If there be anything that needs to be cast out then ask Him to send the true labours. Family continue to pray for strenght to live a Holy life before Him and man.
